Dr. Jan Petersen
Group leader and senior research fellow in biochemistry and structural immunology at the Biomedicine Discovery Institute, Monash University, Australia.
PhD in biophysical chemistry at the University of Freiburg, Germany.
Research in immunology since 2008: Understanding fundamental mechanisms of cellular immune responses in health and disease.
Recent research contributions addressing T cell and NK cell biology provided insights into specific antigen recognition events associated with infection, autoimmune disease and cancer.
Current research focus: Molecular mechanisms and interactions that modulate immune cell activation and (re-)program activation thresholds of the cellular immune system.
